Don’t Ever Stop What You Are Doing!

Group of three college students studying enjoying coffee together.

Imagine this: A middle-aged woman recently stopped by the Center for Marriage and Relationships (CMR) and asked to see Dr. Chris Grace, director of the CMR.

“Are you married?” she asked.

“Yes,” Chris replied questioningly.

“Are you still married to the same woman?”

“Yes, I am,” he replied again. Where was this going?

She then explained that she graduated from Biola several years ago and as a student had attended one of Chris and Alisa’s seminars on dating and marriage. “I knew when I walked out of that talk that I needed to break up with my boyfriend, but I didn’t. Instead, we got married, had children, and life with him soon became a living hell. Our divorce will be final in 10 days. You were right, I wish I had listened to you back then, and I stopped by today to implore you. Please, never stop telling to the students the things you spoke about when I was a student.”

Unfortunately, her story is not unique. It is repeated multiple times every day around the world, leaving a legacy of brokenness and heartache. Now, imagine making a life-altering difference in her life and thousands of young adults just like her!

Each year, the CMR reaches thousands of students not only at Biola, but throughout the US and abroad. We minister to them with our hallmark research-based relationship principles integrated with the timeless wisdom of Scripture. Our goal is to help them avoid a lifetime of brokenness and heartache by laying a durable foundation of strong, Godly relationship skills on the front-end of life.

But to continue making these vital resources reality, we need your help!

We make 90% of the CMR’s content free so that it is accessible to the largest number of students possible. And the CMR is funded entirely by donations from friends like you. We need to raise $50,000 by December 31 to help close our funding gap for this academic school year and keep those vital resources available. Every dollar you give goes to fund projects like the Center’s Christian Perspectives on Relationships undergraduate course, the annual Biola Couples Conference, seminars at secular and Christian universities (here and abroad) that introduce the gospel and address core relationship issues, as well as podcasts, social media, blogs, and videos.

Would you please consider making a generous year-end gift to support the continued outreach of the Center for Marriage and Relationships? More than ever before, young people today are longing for significant, meaningful, long-lasting relationships, and the CMR is uniquely positioned to help them.

“Please, PLEASE don’t ever stop doing what you are doing or teaching these students about healthy relationships,” the woman added as she turned to leave. “It’s too important, and too much is at stake.”

Click here today and help us reach our goal of raising $50,000 by December 31.  A gift of any amount, large or small, can make a real difference for the CMR. Imagine that!
