Reaching Our Mission

What We Do

Biola University's Center for Marriage and Relationships (CMR) seeks to build and sustain healthy, Christ-Centered relationships and marriages through multiple platforms:

  • online content
  • retreats and seminars
  • speaking engagements at universities, churches, and conference centers
  • counseling (premarital, individuals, and couples)
  • advanced undergraduate relationship classes
  • curriculum development

The Center for Marriage and Relationships also serves as a reliable clearinghouse through which the latest and best research and writing can be summarized and made available to the public, along with practical applications. We accomplish this through our online content: Blogs, Podcasts, Ask the Expert posts, and Videos. Uploaded twice a week, these posts are viewed worldwide, helping thousands of couples, individuals, and families build and sustain healthy relationships.

Building and Sustaining Healthy Relationships—Here, Near, and Far

Here—The CMR reaches out to the Biola University community, as well as local communities, by offering events such as the annual Biola Couples Conference (for students who are seriously dating, engaged, or married), the Marriage Mentoring Training Conference, and the annual Going Deeper Together marriage conference.
Near—Our staff frequently travels to different retreats and camps to teach about healthy marriage, dating, and family relationships. Pictured, Dr. Chris and Alisa Grace spoke at the Couples Retreat at Mt. Hermon Christian Conference Center in Felton, CA.
Far—Utilizing their academic credentials, Biola University's CMR is asked to speak nation-wide on college campuses. Some of the most recent invitations have come from UC Berkeley (pictured here), as well as from Yale University, Gordon College, and Union University.
